LAMESA, Texas — Coahoma Junior High School academic competitors received their UIL District 3-3A individual and team medals at an assembly held on Wednesday morning.

The CJH team had a very successful day at the academic meet held on Nov. 20, 2024, in Lamesa, Texas. Combined with the school's One-Act Play competition points, the Coahoma team finished in second place.

“These students worked hard in the months leading up to the UIL contest,” said Katie Valencia, CJH academic UIL Coordinator. “They would come before school, after school, and even during the day to practice and prepare.

“We had an amazing group of coaches this year, and I am thankful for all of their hard work,” Valencia continued. “Our hard work paid off earning Coahoma Junior High as the District Runner Up. I am very proud of every participant.”
